Avoiding the Summer Slide: Educational Online Resources for Families & Kids at KPL! In-Person

This class offers a comprehensive overview of the vast array of online databases and educational tools available to all library patrons through CLEVNET and the Ohio Web Library. Attendees will discover how to leverage these powerful resources to keep students of all ages engaged in reading and learning throughout the summer months, fostering a love for knowledge beyond the classroom.

Participants will explore popular platforms such as:

  • Novelist K-8: A valuable tool for librarians, teachers, parents, and caregivers to find fiction and non-fiction books perfectly matched to a child's reading level and interests, encouraging continued literacy.

  • World Book: Offering a diverse collection of databases suitable for all ages, World Book provides engaging content to help users explore and understand various subjects.

  • Mango Languages and Little Pim: For aspiring polyglots, these resources offer an accessible way to learn new languages, with Mango boasting over 70 language options.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio. To register for this class or more information, please call (440) 224-0239, or visit the library or website: https://www.kingsville.lib.oh.us/
